2011 Reading List

Orientation is a multi-faceted array of experiences, heritage, and traditions. One of the best ways to improve one’s orientation is through constant immersion in new experiences and knowledge. One way I intentionally try to improve/change my orientation is through a constant reading regiment. My 2011 goal was to read 30 books. It’s been over 6 months and while I’ve had some schedule setbacks I have finished 9 books. I do still expect to come near my initial goal. The below is a recap of the books I’ve read to date. I wish more folks would share their reading lists.

The Exploit: A Theory of Networks by Alexander Galloway

Cyberdeterrence and Cyberwar By Martin Libicki

The Starfish and the Spider: The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organizations by Ori Brafram

The Firm, The Market, and the Law by Ronald Coase

Outliers by Malcom Gladwell

Strategy by B.H. Liddell Hart

The Analects by Confucius

Gang Leader for a Day: A Rogue Sociologist Takes to the Streets by Sudhir Venkatesh

Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi

The Medium is the Massage by Marshall McLuhan
